Daffodil AI Club Assistant

A voice-enabled, bilingual AI assistant built to answer questions about the Daffodil AI Club in Bangla and English.

The problem

Club members and newcomers kept asking the same questions about events, membership and resources, and general-purpose chatbots either didn't know the answers or made them up. Many students were also more comfortable asking in Bangla than in English.

The approach

  1. 1Built a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipeline over the club's own knowledge base so every answer is grounded in real club information.
  2. 2Added native Bangla speech recognition with the Web Speech API, so members can simply talk to it in Bangla or English.
  3. 3Connected real-time web search for questions that need up-to-date information.
  4. 4Served the backend with FastAPI and deployed across Vercel and Hugging Face Spaces.

Outcome

  • Built and deployed as the Daffodil AI Club's virtual assistant
  • Handled bilingual (Bangla + English) voice and text conversations
