AI-powered marketplace for home-cooked food

An Android marketplace that connects verified home chefs with students and professionals, with AI-driven recommendations and natural-language search.

The problem

Students and working professionals in Bangladesh struggle to find affordable, hygienic, home-style food, while thousands of home cooks have no structured, trustworthy way to reach nearby customers. Existing delivery apps are built for restaurants, not homes.

The approach

  1. 1Designed a hyperlocal Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with an MVVM + Repository architecture.
  2. 2Planned an AI layer: hybrid recommendation scoring, Gemini-powered natural-language search and review sentiment analysis.
  3. 3Designed a four-dimension rating system (taste, hygiene, packaging, on-time delivery) and a chef verification flow to build trust.
  4. 4Firebase for auth, Firestore, storage and push notifications.

Outcome

  • Team submission for the International AI Builders Congress 2026 (Dhaka)
  • Complete product, architecture and data-model specification
